The waterproofing of service penetrations is a critical part of a total structural waterproofing solution. Typically service penetrations exist through walls and floors, and incorporate areas where ducts, vents and pipework are required to enter the building. Newton have a portfolio of service penetration products which can work as part of an integrated waterproofing approach or operate in their own right to deal with sealing around notoriously difficult-to-seal cables, conduits, ducts and pipe entries.
Products for Waterproofing Service Penetrations
Newton 303 PolyProof is a very high grade hydrophilic water bar which seals gaps in construction joints by swelling up to 400% its original size. The water bar is adhered to the face of the first pour of the joint with either Newton 306 SwellMastic or Newton 309 Contact Adhesive. Can also be used as the water bar in settlement or compression joint.
Newton 306 SwellMastic is a high performance mastic, ideal for sealing around protrusions through the building such as service pipes and conduits. It should also be used to reinforce Newton 307 PipeSeal being fitted to pipes passing through the structure.
Newton 307 PipeSeal is a preformed MDPE pipe collar, which acts as a seal creating a physical joint around pipes passing through the building. Newton 306 SwellMastic should be used to reinforce the joint. Newton 307 PipeSeal is available for sealing pipes of diameters of 110mm and 160mm and they are simply slipped over the pipe using neutral soap as a lubricant.
Newton 308 Stopaq is a unique swelling sealant compound system which provides a waterproofing solution to seal service pipe penetrations through retaining walls. It can be used to seal protrusions through the structure whether in sleeve pipes or directly through the concrete
