Summary

This property in a small Cotswolds village suffered regular flooding and prolonged power outage. The combination of the Newton Victron Quattro Inverter and Generator System gives unlimited power during prolonged power outage, so the basement stays dry.

The Project

This village in the Cotswolds suffers from weekly power cuts, and when combined with severe weather patterns, flooding is frequent. A previous waterproofing system was inadequately installed in this property and it was unable to cope with the volumes of water during the power outage. As a result flood damage was a major problem.

Newton Specialist Basement Contractor Guardian Preservation were commissioned to provide a specification for a pumping system that would cope with the high volumes of water present during a power outage.

The Solution

The Victron Quattro Inverter was chosen to provide pumping during power interruption. It works by inverting 12V DC power from a battery (or multiple batteries) to clean and efficient 230V power. Because of the length of the power outage, the client required extra security in the instance that the batteries depleted before the power was restored, which in this particular village was very frequent.

The self-start Generator System was installed and linked to the Victron Quattro Inverter. Two Newton NP750 high performance pumps were installed.

The Result

  • The Victron Quattro provides continuous pumping of Newton pumps and pumping systems during power disruption.
  • For the ultimate in battery back-up protection, the Quattro unit can be mated with a generator that recharges the batteries once they reach a predetermined state of depletion to give unequaled protection against power outage.
  • The intelligent technology within the Victron systems ensures that the batteries are always at optimum performance due to the SmartCharge capabilities
  • The combination of the Victron Quattro Inverter alongside the Generator System provides unlimited power during prolonged power outage, ensuring that the basement remains dry at all times.
