The Futurebuild Conference was created as a space to connect like-minded and sustainability-conscious suppliers and specifiers, facilitating commercial partnerships that benefit both people and the planet.

This year’s Futurebuild will be a landmark event for EDGE London, as they continue their path to raising awareness of the sustainable solutions that are available to reduce the impact of the built environment on our natural environment.

Newton Waterproofing will be an active contributor on the EDGE stand (Stand D60) at Futurebuild this March, with a member of our team on hand throughout the event to talk about our sustainable construction initiatives.

We are pleased to be part of the EDGE Centre’s awareness campaign by showcasing our commitment to helping shape the green agenda in the waterproofing industry and provide more options for sustainable construction.

The construction industry has a significant role to play in our global transition towards more environmentally sustainable economies and societies. Not only do buildings leave behind a large environmental footprint during their construction, but their lifelong impact is often substantial. Current industry standards and practices are simply not going to allow us to achieve our environmental goals and obligations, and something needs to change. Fortunately, there are a great number of more sustainable alternatives to the materials and products that are widely used in the industry which allow us to design and construct buildings that integrate with our environment rather than erode it. Here at EDGE, we find the companies producing those sustainable alternatives, and consolidate their products and materials into a convenient, one-stop-shop. We offer a tangible and attainable vision for the future for anyone who is interested in reducing the impact of their living and working spaces on the environment. We are tremendously excited to present this vision to a wider audience of like-minded individuals at Futurebuild this March between the 1st-3rd.” Robynne Hammer, COO of EDGE

At Newton, we will always take pride in our continued sustainability initiatives. For example, our award-winning recycling service, launched in 2017, enables us to collect, process and recycle all waste off-cuts of our HDPE plastic waterproofing membrane, as well as the used plastic and metal containers that store our liquid products.

And in 2021, the Newton CDM System became the first Type C waterproofing system in the UK to be certified to the BES 6001 standard for responsible sourcing by BRE.

Our Recycling Service and partnership with a leading waste management business, combined with a BES 6001 certification, a range of waterproofing products made with recycled plastic and our long-standing partnership with Surfers Against Sewage, a UK marine conservation charity, all demonstrate our continuing commitment to sustainable construction. We want all our customers to know that when they work with Newton, they’re using a socially responsible company with sustainability at the top of its agenda.” Warren Muschialli, Managing Director of Newton
