Newton Waterproofing is proud to have been named as a finalist in two categories of the prestigious CN Specialists Awards.
Now in their 19th year, the CN Specialists Awards are the only national awards to recognise the outstanding achievements of specialist contractors and to highlight the inspirational businesses and work found across the country.
Protecting the British Museum
First, we have been shortlisted in the ‘Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor’ category, alongside installer Arti Structural Waterproofing, after successfully delivering a failsafe waterproofing and fireproofing solution to the service tunnels beneath the British Museum, ensuring that the Grade 1 listed building is fully protected.
Working directly with our specialist contractor, we were called on to provide a solution to protect the tunnels beneath the historic London landmark against water ingress and fire, allowing them to be re-instated as the primary source of ventilation to the galleries.
Leading Product Offering
Secondly, we have also been shortlisted in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category following the addition of cavity drain waterproofing membrane Oldroyd Xtf to our product offering, thanks to a partnership with Oldroyd, Scandinavia’s leading supplier of tunnel membrane systems.
Oldroyd Xtf is now the highest performance cavity drain waterproofing membrane available in the UK for a combined fireproof and waterproof solution on below-ground projects.
The waterproof and fire resistant membrane is designed specifically to protect tunnels from water, and can be fixed directly into concrete or bare rock, to vaults and escape routes, or in technical rooms and other similar locations.

Winners of the CN Specialists Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Hilton London Metropole on 7 September.
