Earlier this year, Newton was contacted by Lauren Hunt from Formation Architects about an opportunity to sponsor her rowing team as they take on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing Challenge. We have worked with Lauren previously on several waterproofing projects and were very pleased to be invited to sponsor her team, ‘In Deep Ship’.
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing Challenge consists of a 3000-mile-long row across the Atlantic Ocean from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands, to Nelson’s Dockyard, English Harbour in Antigua & Barbuda. 35 teams are taking part, with each team raising money for charities of their choice. In Deep Ship have chosen Crisis UK, Covenant House Vancouver and Anthony Nolan, aiming to raise £60,000 before the race begins in December this year. Collectively, the participants of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge have raised over €11m for charities worldwide since 2013.
As a ‘Bronze’ partner of In Deep Ship our logo has been printed onto the side of the boat, alongside the other team sponsors, including our partner A. Proctor Group. The team have now spent their last weekend on the water in Cardiff Bay, Penarth Marina, as the boat has been shipped to the race start line in La Gomera ahead of 12th December 2021, when the race begins.
If you’d like to sponsor In Deep Ship, visit their GoFundMe page.
Thank you to In Deep Ship for giving us the opportunity to sponsor them, and we wish them the best of luck in their race!
