Newton are proud to sponsor the Tunbridge Wells Foresters Ladies Football Team, which is managed by our very own Technical Advisor, Reece Catt!
The newly formed team has recently joined Tunbridge Wells Foresters FC (TWFFC), a local club that consists of over 400 players, volunteers and supporters all aiming to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for children and adults to learn and develop their footballing skills.
This year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France has shown that there is a rapidly growing interest in women’s football, with over 10.3m people tuning into the BBC in the UK to watch the World Cup semi-final between England and the United States.
Foresters Ladies are proud to join TWFFC with 21 senior women players, representing a huge step forward for the development of ladies and girls’ football at the club.
TWFFC is fully committed in developing local talent in West Kent, and with the addition of a senior women’s team they hope that more and more young girls will be inspired and encouraged to play & enjoy the game.
The team consists of:
- Helena Fothergill
- Samantha Wright
- Defenders- Florentia Anastasiou, Samantha Burton, Charlotte Coulter, Leanne Foster, Hollie Rabbitt, Alexandra Weston
- Midfielders – Megan Akehurst, Maisie Gibb, Poppy Gilden, Becky Jarvis, Kells Moran, Karli Povey, Courtney Smith, Lauryn Underhill
- Attackers – Jodie Coombes, Becky Janes, Nia Lewis, Sara Walker, Rona Wignall
- Assistant Manager- Scott Moran
- Manager – Reece Catt
What’s more, the team’s application to enter the SSE Women’s FA Cup has officially now been accepted, meaning Foresters Ladies will be in the preliminary round of the top cup competition for women’s football in England. Their first fixture is against Milford & Witley near Guildford on 1st September!

We are proud to be supporting this determined team throughout the upcoming season, especially as they’ve been working incredibly hard in pre-season training and have won all of their friendly games so far.
