Newton’s range of uPVC pipe diameters and fittings are recommended for use with all of our pump and sump systems. The pipe is pressure rated, suitable for ground water, effluent water and sewage, and provides excellent long-term strength characteristics, impact resistance and cost effectiveness.

Newton’s range of uPVC pipework options has been approved by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) and conforms to European Standard EN ISO 1452-2 – Plastics piping systems for water supply and for buried and above-ground drainage and sewerage under pressure – Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) – Part 2: Pipes (ISO 1452-2: 2009).
The pipe and socket fittings are joined together using uPVC solvent weld glue which creates a homogenous seal by fully bonding the two components together to create a watertight union. The male and female threaded fittings are screwed together and sealed using PTFE tape to stop water tracking through the threaded joint.

Recent independent investigations have confirmed that when installed correctly, uPVC pressure pipe will have a useful life span of over 100 years.

    Pipe Identification

    Pipe Identification

uPVC pipe and fittings are available in 50 mm, 63 mm and 2” diameters. It is important to note that there is a difference in the way the metric and imperial pipe diameters are measured and it is crucial when specifying or ordering pipework, that the correct measurements are used; metric pipe is measured from the outer diameter and imperial pipe is measured from the inner diameter.
